That’s why our team is trained in animal behavior, so we know what are good signs and what we need to look out for.

In-between play breaks, for instance, we love to see dogs taking turns who is chasing who. This trade-off is a show of good manners, giving their friends the chance to be the one in charge! We also appreciate it when dogs take breaks to lay back and cool off or check in on the humans nearby, like they’re letting us know they’re doing okay.

I reached out to Dogs of Tucson in December and they immediately set up a social eval to learn more about her temperament and how she played with other dogs and people. I loved that they took the time to get to know Rosie before she jumped into a full day of play. She has now been attending weekly doggy daycare for the past 9 months and she LOVES it!

How is Dogs of Tucson different? One thing you'll notice right when you walk in is that we don't use bleach!⠀

While many dog facilities still use bleach to clean, when starting Dogs of Tucson, we learned that its harsh smell is unpleasant for pets and can negatively affect their senses. Based on recommendations from various vets and @fearfreepets, we've always relied on Rescue instead. This odor-free cleaner is made with pet-safe hydrogen peroxide that is highly effective for cleaning and breaks down into water and oxygen, which is much gentler on pets.⠀
