He joined us as a puppy almost a year ago, coming in with an open mind and a big heart for all humans and dogs. He's been growing up right in front of our eyes, visiting the dog park with his mom and joining us for doggie daycare. He's been making new friends and socializing, but also learning important lessons like understanding boundaries! We adore him and he's got a special place in our hearts. ❤️

1. Look for loose, bouncy, goofy movement!
Dogs tend to make big, exaggerated moves when they’re playing.

2. You might also see them happily falling down!
Lying down and exposing their belly, shows that they’re comfortable.

3. Play can get really loud!
You can expect play growling, snarling, and barking that can get extra loud.

4. You might see play bows!
This is a signal that can invite another dog to play or check in that they want to continue.

5. You should see breaks!
These breaks might be so fast that humans will only catch a blink of it, but they can be longer.

6. Good playmates will switch roles!
A dog might start as the one being chased, then switch to start chasing the other.

7. Bite inhibition is key!
Dogs use their teeth a lot during play, so being gentle is crucial.

8. Dogs that are larger, older, or stronger will hinder themselves.
This means they make themselves act smaller and lessen the intensity of play.
